Directions Traveling By Car
- From the West
- Travel east on I-290 (Eisenhower Expressway)
- Exit at Damen Avenue
- Turn right onto Damen at the top of the exit.
- The VA Medical Center is 3 blocks down the road on your Right.
- From the East / South
- Travel west on I-94 (Dan Ryan Expressway)
- At the circle interchange, exit to I-290 West (Eisenhower - towards west
suburbs)
- Exit at Damen Avenue
- Turn left onto Damen at the top of the exit.
- The VA Medical Center is 4 blocks down the road on your Right.
- From the North
- Travel south on I-94 (Kennedy Expressway)
- Exit to I-290 West (Eisenhower - towards west suburbs)
- Exit at Damen Avenue
- Turn left onto Damen at the top of the exit.
- The VA Medical Center is 4 blocks down the road on your Right.
Parking
A new parking facility has been completed at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center.
The parking garage has entrances on Taylor Street and Ogden Avenue.
There is no parking fee for patients; however, patients being admitted are
encouraged to have a friend or family member drive them to the medical center.
Public parking at the Lakeside Clinic is available on Erie Street, directly
across from the Emergency Room entrance. Patients needing their parking ticket
validated must contact the VA Police, located in Room 153 next to the Erie
Street entrance.
The Jesse Brown VA Medical Center is not responsible for any damage to vehicles
or for loss of items stolen from parked vehicles.
Mass Transit
Jesse Brown VAMC is served by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Blue Line
rapid transit line (UIC-Halsted, Racine, and Polk stops).
CTA bus lines serving the hospital include the 7-Harrison, 50-Damen,
12-Roosevelt, X21-Cermak Express, and the 37-Sedgwick/Ogden.
The 7-Harrison bus runs from downtown west on Harrison St., connecting Union
Station to the hospital. It boards on the west (Clinton St.) side of Union
Station (Metra rail lines: Burlington Northern-Santa Fe, Heritage Corridor,
North Central, Southwest, and Milwaukee District North and West.)
